Germany is World Champion 2002!

In a thrilling final the German billiards team
beat the Netherlands by 5:1 sets. Once more Christian Rudolph
has been the match winner, beating dick Jaspers, ranked no. 2
in the world in great style, by 15:13 in 6, 15:11 in 7 and 15:13
in 8 innings.
First it looked as if Martin Horn could clinch the decisive lead
against Anno de Kleine. Horn had been quickly in front by two
sets, leaving de Kleine one single point in the second set. But
in set 3, de Kleine found back his power, allthough he needed
nine setballs to came back. Shortly before their forth set was
due to start, Christian Rudoph had his first Matchball and did
not let his chance go.
Germany was World Champion for the forth time after 1993,94 and 97.


Turkey wins versus Denmark

First time in 16 world championships the
turkish team reach a podium position. Tayfun Tasdemir's great
fight versus Denish No 1. Dion Nelin in two straight sets allows
turkish dreams of medal come true.
Adnan Yüksel's won the first set that decides the match very
early. No matter he lost in three sets versus the Denish No 2
Tonny Carlsen, Turkey scored the best result of team world championship
tradition.
